Overview: Maternal and Child Health

Our vision is to radically improve the lives of children and their families through integrated best practices and well considered programming.

Our interventions are holistic and integrated, understanding the complexities of the lives and circumstances of children living in harsh and economically deprived conditions. All our programmes have a huge impact on the morbidity and mortality of children at household, community and facility level.

Zoë-Life is recognised internationally for our work in Infant and Young child feeding and Integrated management of Childhood illnesses (IMCI) working closely with the World Health Organisation (WHO), UNICEF and the National government on policy and training issues.

Nationally, Zoë-Life supports the South African Maternal and Child Health Department to implement and scale up MCWH programmes. These include IYCN, IMCI-ICATT and Children’s HIV care and Support Programmes.

At local level Zoë-Life works to support integrated community responses to child health, involving households, schools, health facilities and children into project planning and implementation.
