iact - integrated access to care and treatmentZoë-Life has the privilege of supporting the South African National Department of Health as the lead technical supported to the KZN Department of Health HAST Unit, to roll out I ACT in KZN.

Our I ACT teams have had incredible support in the participating Districts, with both DOH facilities and numerous NGOs taking on the challenge to provide support and education services to people living with HIV (PLWHA) who are still well enough not to need ARVs.

img-iactWe are so proud of the NGOs that are creatively using the IACT programme to impact many many people.

  • Life-Line (eThekwini) is creating new ways of supporting Sex-Workers with HIV in order to assist them in strengthening their immune systems.
  • Mangosuthu University of Technology (Durban) is using the programme to support students
  • In the uThungulu District, Izulu Orphan project and Primary Health Care (PHC) Municipal Clinics are taking the programme deep into the community to serve people that would otherwise get very little information and support.
  • In the Drakensberg, Philakahle and the Department of Health are working together to take the programme to many rural facilities and communities.

These are just a few of the committed organisations who are strengthening families and relationships that are complicated by HIV.

This week Zoë-Life was able to broadcast information and testimonies about I-ACT on Good News Radio to an audience of 37 000 people– we are grateful to the presenters for this opportunity to spread good news and best practices to many people who cannot always make it to support groups or clinics but who have so many unanswered questions and issues. Thank you so much.

Please contact us at info@zoe-life.co.za for a list of participating I-ACT sites so that you can join the programme and increase access to care and treatment.
