Training and Skills Development

One of the cornerstones of Zoë-Life’s capacity building objectives, is to bring cutting edge, relevant and practical knowledge to all levels of society, in order to improve the lives of people in very practical ways.

Our training methods are simple and effective: Learn, Serve, Sustain

  1. LEARN – SIMPLIFY KNOWLEDGE
We take international best practices and recognized policies, and convert these into simple concepts that can be understood by everybody. Training is practical, fun and participatory. We also learn from participants in the process, making our training richer and helping us to learn what the issues are on the ground.
  2. SERVE – KNOWLEDGE TO SKILLS
Learning: Our training courses translate knowledge into practice so that participants can use their new skills in the context of everyday service delivery. Mentoring: Our skills mentors will then demonstrate and mentor participants within their work environment to ensure that they have enough support to master their skills and provide a good quality service. Quality assuring: Once participants have practiced their new skills, we will assess the quality of services to help entrench a value of quality of service for all.
  3. SUSTAIN – SKILLS INTO SYSTEMS
Quality Service delivery can only really have a big impact if new skills can be incorporated into sustainable systems. Our facilitators will work with institutions and organisations to support the implementation of new skills within their specific systems. This may result in small changes and improvements within the health or community systems, to ensure that the new skills or programmes can run efficiently. We use the Quality Improvement Cycle to ensure that skills improvements result in service improvements. At the end of this process, we have confidence that our training results in real changes that are experienced by the people we are hoping to serve.
